The name " Cloud Eagle Designs" came easily to me after being born and raised in rural Alaska.
All I had to do for inspiration was look up to see the pair of bald eagles wheeling across the sky
over my home. I've been making tack for my own collection of model horses for over 30 years,
gaining expertise as I go. Now I'm offering my work for sale to other collectors and horse lovers.
These Native American costumes are the result of years of research into the types of tack used by
different tribes and the beads I use are even smaller than seed beads, to keep the scale correct.
This Blackfoot festival style saddle is illustrated in the book "The Mystic Warriors Of The Plains"
by Thomas E. Mails. My costumes are easily adjustable to fit Breyer and Peter Stone model horses,
and come with tacking up instructions.
My western tack sets are also researched for accuracy, and have resin trees, tiny buckles and "silver"
trim, (actually made of pewter) made by the Rio Rondo company. They are individually dyed, stamped
and produced so that each set is unique.
